Social Media Engagement Rates Dropping Across Top Networks

The 2023 Social Media Benchmark Report from Rival IQ allows businesses in 14 industries to compare their social media performance against other companies in their competitive landscape.

The data set covers social media engagement on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter for 2,100 companies. This includes 150 companies from alcohol, fashion, financial services, food & beverage, health & beauty, higher education, home decor, influencers, media, nonprofits, retail, sports, tech, and travel.

The companies analyzed have 25,000 - 1,000,0000 Facebook followers and over 5,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

This report analyzes 1.9 million Facebook posts, 841k Instagram posts, 304k TikTok videos, and 2.2m tweets. The following are insights from all industries.

TikTok Introduces Series For Creator Content Monetization

TikTok announced a new way for creators to monetize their content: TikTok Series.

Series allows creators to put video collections behind a paywall. TikTok users who want to see Series videos must pay to access them using in-video links or the creator's profile. 

Creators can set their prices based on the value of the content and the type of relationship they want to build with their audience. 

Unlike standard TikTok videos, which can be up to 10 minutes long, TikTok Series videos can be up to 20 minutes long. Creators can include up to 80 videos in a TikTok Series.
